KindyWords

For teachers who want families writing more — and the community commitment built into KindyWords.

Schools & community

For teachers: an ally for your writing instruction, never a replacement

You teach writing inside real constraints — one of you, a whole classroom. KindyWords gives the families of your students what a classroom can rarely give one child: immediate, individual, endlessly patient encouragement for every single writing attempt, at home, on paper. The evidence for why that practice matters is on our Why writing page — sources included.

How it works with schools — the important part: it doesn’t, directly, and that’s deliberate. A school can never enrol a child in KindyWords. Parents register, parents consent, parents hold the account — always. Your role, if you choose it, is the one that fits teachers best: telling families it exists.

Looking for a gentle way to get more writing happening at home? KindyWords is an AI writing mentor for ages 4–9 (always disclosed as an AI, always parent-supervised): your child writes on real paper, you send a photo, and a warm voice cheers them on with at most one or two things to try. If it can’t read the writing, it asks — it never guess-corrects. Parents register and hold the account at kindywords.com.

Our community commitment

The free plan is the commitment: the full mentor, for every child in the family, forever — funded by Premium families and coffee donations, so a family’s budget never decides whether a child gets cheered on.

Exploring: sponsor a family. We’re designing a way for donors to directly cover the running costs of free families. Not live yet — when it is, every dollar’s destination will be published on this page.

We’re not a registered charity and don’t claim to be — just a product with a mission and public maths. Community organisations who work with young families: we’d love to hear from you.
